Introduction

Further to the recommendations of the Public Health Review (2015) and the Health & Social Care Delivery Plan (2016), the Scottish Government and CoSLA are leading public health reform.  Part of this agenda includes the development of shared public health priorities.

As part of this process, and in line with the adoption of a whole systems approach, ScotPHN undertook engagement with a wide range of stakeholders on the draft priorities.  Stakeholders have helped shape the priorities and included representation from:

  • the wider public health community and workforce;
  • the NHS;
  • Local government (including CoSLA and SOLACE);
  • Community Planning;
  • the Third Sector;
  • NGOs;
  • Health and social care partnerships / Integrated Joint Boards;
  • Health Improvement Specialists; and
  • Scottish Government.

Three events took place in Edinburgh (12/2/18), Aberdeen (21/2/18) and Glasgow (27/2/18).  A virtual event took place on 1/3/18.

The outputs from all the workshops and the social media coverage were analysed and the final report is published here.
