SGTF Introduction
Scottish NHS and HSCP Gypsy/Traveller forum
The Scottish NHS and HSCP Gypsy/Traveller Forum is for those in NHS Boards and Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCP) who have a lead role in tackling health inequalities and improving the health and well-being of Gypsy/Travellers.
The purpose of the Forum is to:
- Identify and share good practice across Scotland, at an NHS Board, HSCP and locality level, as well as with Gypsy/Traveller led organisations and relevant third sector organisations
- Identify connections, potential partnerships and opportunities for joint working, sharing learning and undertaking research
- Play an active role in influencing NHS and HSCP policy and service responses as they develop at a national and local level to ensure the Rights, Health and Well-being of Gypsy/Travellers are protected and promoted.
The Forum will contribute to the delivery of actions in the Health and Social Care delivery plan which supports the joint Cosla/Scottish Government action plan, Improving the Lives of Scotland’s Gypsy/Travellers: 2019-2021
